This Do It Yourself blog is a work in progress. The best way to bring out your awesome self-in-progress is to surround yourself with other awesome people. Finding Idols (for DIY Blogs or in general): A Musing
I found these Do It Yourself Blogs for 2018 in my search for idols, someone to look up to and tell myself that’s where I’m going! I think it’s important to find idols but it’s also super easy to put them on a pedestal we think we can never reach. Whether it’s losing those extra pounds or playing guitar it’s easy to get disheartened looking at idols who are doing exactly what you want to do, and better.
Sometimes we’re overly critical of ourselves, that we’ll never get there. Sometimes we are overly critical of our idol too; I mean, pfft, they’re only human, they’re not that great. We’re only human too. And we can be just as awesome. It’s possible to be proud of our accomplishments and someone else’s… at the same time. Be proud you lost 20lbs and be proud she lost 50lbs. Her accomplishment does not diminish the fact you still are 20lbs closer to your goal too.
So I’m proud of these DIY Blogs and what they have accomplished. I’m proud of me too. Instead of dreaming about it I’m still pushing forward to where I want to be. I’m proud of their beautiful styles, homes, and designs. I’m proud of you and the goals you have achieved no matter how minor. (Go you and finally getting the laundry done!)
